Invitation
We are glad to inform
you the 6th China International Coking Technology and Coke Market
Congress 2008, jointly organized by organized by China Iron and
Steel Association (CISA), China Coking Industry Association (CCIA)
and Metallurgical Council of China Council for the Promotion of
International Trade (MC-CCPIT), will be held from 11 to 12 Sept
2008 at Renaissance Tianjin TEDA Hotel & Convention Center,
Tianjin, China.
The main topics of
the congress will include: demand and supply situation on the
Chinese and the world market in 2008 and 2009, development trend
of the coking industry and government policy, coking and gas treatment
technologies, and coke logistics, etc.
China is the world
largest coke producing, consuming and exporting country. In 2007,
China's coke output reached 328 million ton and export 15.3 million
ton which accounting for 60% of the world total production and
46% of the international trade volume respectively. With the strong
demand and hiking coking coal price, coke price has rebounded
and the cookeries¡¯ economic efficiency has significantly improved
since mid last year.
However, the coking
industry will face more difficulties and challenges than ever
before due to the more and more volatile steel market, the more
and more stringent control over high energy consumption and high
pollution industry, and the inadequate supply of high quality
coking coal. Coking enterprises have to effectively change their
growth model and further enhance their efficiency in every links
of coke production and marketing to maintain their profitability
of today and gain further development.
Transportation cost,
particularly ocean freight in case of international trade, accounts
for a very large proportion of the final delivered coke cost.
Huge economic efficiency and profit margin improvement can be
realized by optimizing coke logistics. To this end, we will specially
include the discussion on logistics in the conference program,
and arrange a field trip to the dedicated coke terminals at Tianjin
Port. Tianjin has the largest coke terminal in China which delivered
1.134 million tons' coke in 2007, accounting for 75 per cent of
total export of China.
Aiming to promote market
study and enhance technological exchange and business cooperation,
the congress has been successfully held for five times since 2002
and has become one of the most important events of the international
coke industry and steel industry.
We sincerely invite
coke producers, users, traders, logistics service providers, coking
technology and equipment suppliers (particularly for energy saving
and environmental protection technology and equipment) to participate
in this annual grand gathering of the world coke community.
