﹛﹛Metallurgical Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (MCㄜCCPIT) is proud to announce the forthcoming "1st China International Coking Technology and Coke Market Congress 2002" during the Sept. 17-19 period of 2002 in Beijing, P. R. China, with China Iron and Steel Association(CISA) and the China Coking Industry Association (CCIA)as the hosts.

Currently, China has become the world largest coke producing and exporting country, with its annual production ranging from 120 to 130 million tons, and its annual export maintaining above 20 million tons. The order and stability of the global coke market is very much influenced by China's coke export. Yet there are existing problems such as poor product quality, waste of valuable resources, over-production, environmental pollution, etc. with China's coke-making industrial sector. In order to maintain a long-term and stable momentum for China's coke export, and to improve & ensure the product quality, China has already adopted all-round rectifying measures to curb the random and unchecked production of poor quality coke products.

To adapt to the situation changes resulting from China's entry into the WTO, to help China's coking industry and its related products make a further step toward the world market, to widely introduce and adopt relevant advanced domestic & overseas technology and management experience so as to ensure a sustainable and healthy development of China's coking industry, it has been of utmost importance for China's coking industrial sector to gain a deeper understanding of the status-quo and developing tendency of the world coking industry and the coke product market.

Against this background, China Iron and Steel Association (CISA),China Coking Industry Association (CCIA), Metallurgical Council - CCPIT (MC-CCPIT) have decided to hold the "1st China International Coking Technology and Coke Market Congress 2002" in Beijing, China during the Sept. 17-19 period of 2002. The Congress will create a forum for industrial experts and relevant personnel to study and exchange ideas on issues such as the global coke market supply/demand, its price fluctuation trend, coke product trade, state-of-the-art coke-making technology & equipment, potential JV & cooperative coking projects, environmental protection, etc. with the aim to gradually standardize the production and export of China's coke-making industrial sector. If you are interested in being one step ahead of your competitors, attendance at this congress is mandatory.

To ensure a success of the Congress, an organization committee has been set up with its composition as follows:

Honorary Chairman:
Mr. Wu Xichun, Chairman of China Iron and Steel Association(CISA)
