Coking Technology & Coke Market Congress which will be held
during the period of Jun. 22-23, 2004 in Beijing International
Convention Center, Beijing, China.
 Positioning
as the largest coke producing country and coke export country,
China¨s coke output sustained at a high level of 130 million tons,
and the export volume topped 13.57 million tons in 2002, accounting
for 70% of the world trade volume. Japan, United States, Brazil,
Belgium and the Netherlands again proved to be the largest importer
of China¨s coke. In the first half of 2003, China¨s cokes output
and export volume shot up to 65.15 million tons and 8.76 million
tons, up by 20.13% and 49.53% over the corresponding period of
2002 respectively. As the largest coke-consuming industry, China¨s
steel industry consumed 90 million tons of coke in 2002, and this
figure will break 100 million in 2003. China¨s coke production
and coke export is now undoubtedly playing the leverage role on
the world coke market.
The world
coke production and coke trade is now far from being healthy and
sustainable, it is crucially important to strengthen the communication
between producers, traders, consumers, technology & services
providers and policy makers at this pivotal time.
